Coming up on the end

Well it's almost the end of the semester and it seems like I'm always busy all of a sudden. I just got a job a couple weeks ago and if you throw that in with all the classes trying to get one last big project or something in before the end of the semester it seems like all my free time is going out the window. Also I have the most annoying cough in the world and it won't go away. I feel fine except I cannot stop coughing to save my life. It drives me crazy because I always have to stop whatever I'm doing to have a coughing fit and whenever I walk anywhere or do anything it always gets worse. On the bright side though they gave me a bottle of codeine to help me sleep and I found out that if you take 4 or 5 times more then it says to it actually works. Other then that I was at a party Friday night and that was a lot of fun so it's not like things are all that bad.

I'm not sure I've ever been so let down by a sports game. I am an huge Memphis fan and I have been since back when they lost the Conference USA championship to Louisville and as a result had to go to the NIT. I don't have another team I push for as much as Memphis and they were sooooo close to winning the first ever championship in school history. Why does it always have to come down to free throws (the Louisville game did too)? My senior year of high school I shot 72% and as a team they can't even match that. Anyway the key to this team getting back is if John Calipari comes back. Every year it seems like he flirts with some other job opportunity. But if he stays the team has a future. He almost always uses his NBA connections (he used to coach the Nets) as a selling point to bring big time recruits to a non-BCS conference school (like he did with Derrick Rose). If he leaves I'm not sure another coach can recreate that. As it stands now the team figures to lose 3 of its 5 starters, Joey Dorsey, Chris Douglas-Roberts, and Derrick Rose. If they keep the rest it will still be a decent team and will still make the NCAA Tournament next year. If they get both of the big recruits they are currently pursuing they could even be very good, the recruits are Tyreke Evans and Devin Ebanks. Until then I'll just have wait and sulk til next season.

Back again

Well break is sadly over and I have a job now. It's at harkins and I hate the work but its a job and I need the money. Plus I get free movies. Anyway I'm just trying to get myself together for the stretch run of the semester and get my grades up. Plus I'm dealing with a bit of an internal conflict of what kind of person I want to be. On one side I want to handle myself with a certain level of maturity that I feel like I should have by now. But then there's another part of me that whenever I'm behaving well for any period of time just starts to think that this is to boring and leads my to go on a party binge. So its like this battle between the part of me that wants to grow up and the part that just wants to party every day. So yeah...I don't know if that really makes sense or not but I've noticed that I go back and forth between those two things and thought it was interesting. Anyway I hope all is well with the rest of you.
